Words of the Week: Deer Tick, "Smith Hill"
Smithwicks and Smith Hill. It seems like a no-brainer. The beer's name aside, its origin is akin to the Irish instrumentation added to the acoustic "Smith Hill 2018." Plus, the castle tower on the label is how we've always pictured the tiny room in the song. Smithwicks could easily be the brew the narrator considers toasting with when he says: "I could drink myself to death tonight / Or I could stand and give a toast / To those who made it out alive / It's you I'll miss the most."
